A shine new certification, a really beautiful exam, excelent to learn about databases and SQL, and the first stept on my intentions to become a DBA on my sysadmin path.

Things goes well, very well

Have been a long time since I design this mind map, so I hope be useful:

I love the reading. I love the Books. I love detective fiction or detective story.  Last year final days and the new days of 2010 was a gold oportunity to get some new books and improve the library. A libreary created and “filled” with our favorite books and stories. Ruri Himura help me to get some books and here’s the list.

1. The daughter of time – Josephine Tey (The best detective fiction of all the times)

2. Red Harvest, The Dain Curse, The Maltese Falcon, The Glass Key and The Thin Man – Dashiell Hammett (One of the masters of this genre)

3. Cryptonomicon – Neil Stephenson – (Well, this is crytography, maths and “hacker” history)

4. Necronomicon and the best weird tales – H.P. Lovecraft (Ruri have odd histories with Cthulu)

5. Sherlock Holmes The complete novels and stories – Sin Arthur Conan Doyle – (As ever, book beats movie)

6. The postman always rings twice, double idemnity, Mildred Pierce and selected stories – James M. Cain (A lot of Femme Fatale)

7. The talented Mr. Ripley, Ripley under ground and Ripley’s game – Patricia Highsmith (One of the most greathes histories about a murder, a psicological murder)

Everything isn’t internet, tv and games, we love the pleassure of reading and increase our mind skills for create, thinks and solve mistery. In a few days we plain to release our Ex-Libris, for our books   Here some photos of our books

A new year, fullfiled with new goals, new achivements and a lot of stuff to do. Welcome 2010, and please prepare to be a year lived complety from the start to the end: Certifications, new studies, own house, marriage?, new jobs, maybe the McS?, travel outside Colombia?, well well well, let’s do our best job and come on Ruri Himura, we have a lot to do.

15 days of travel,  15 cities, a lot of miles, a lot of dead hours in each airport, new friend, 3 countries, this was the big tour

I thinks this trip is going to be forever in my mind. All starts with me taking a bus to Villavicencio. After a road with 4 tunnels, one of them along 4.1km; beautiful landscapes, heat, cold and every possible weather the bus finally arrive. I get down and take a taxi, but I forget the monitor of one server on the bus, so, make a turn on the taxi and “Mr. if you can fly, please do it”, we arribe at bus terminal, and fly to search the bus or his driver, but, nope, the bus continue the travel, so it passes at this point almost 5 minutes ago, so, a lot of pain on me. Get the driver cell number and thanks to god and my wonderful luck he answeer and realiced that the monitor box was mine, so get the taxi again an run to the hills, well, to the bus stop. But a very bad police officer wants to give a infraction to my driver, so I have to ask for mercy and finally with jeffto almost crying, the taxi could start to fly again. When I see the bus my heart start to bit slow. The monitor was with me again.

Well, after the work on the airport, time to eat something, so I suggest you to get a great lunch at the restaurant crossing the “peaje” going to Restrepo, and before the street of the airport. What a delicius meat, a really good taste.

Coming back to Bogota, the trip take more time and I was super hyper exhausted, but I’ve to work with some servers so again to the airport and do some work. Mi last work in my actual job, b

IMPORTANT: I must not forget my ID at home, specially when I have to trip…

My last flight of this tour. All begins with me on a seat next to a group of young mothers which thanks to his baby I have to close the “window light” of the seat row, so I lost all the landscape of the flight.

When the flight landed happend one really cool thing. Aires was starting a new route from Bogota to Cucuta, so the bomberman department recive the plane and start to throw water on it. Well, I arribe to Cucuta, the capiutal city of Norte de Santander deparment, also a city knowed for the heat and his people.

Time to work, so, one server more and only one last. After meet all the cool people of the airport time to go to the city, first to DIAN (Aduanas) and then to the center of the city at National Palace where is located the tax division of DIAN. This was really good because there were really good technical people in both places. At this time I received some news a great news.

Well, all finished, so time to go to Venezuela. I take my bag, get a bus and start a trip to Ureña, a small town in San Antonio de Tachira on Venezuela’s territory. Being there I bought some stuffs, specially food to bring to Bogota. But unfortunately thanks to my chicken head I left my ID at home, so I ‘ve to come back quickly to the airport to get some help, because, without ID being Cucuta a frontier, well, I suppost I can’t came back.

Again at the airport I have to ask for help to the airport people because I have my ID on my Pc, so I have to printi it and after some hours waiting for my flight and almost a crying day. I could enter to the board gate and save my day… Aand, continue waiting because Aires was doing a small party to celebrate the new trip, so my flight was delayed for almost 1 hour…

Then, fiunally in Bogotá.

Another day in this big tour, a really hard begin, because the plane can’t landed on Rionegro’s international airport in two chances because the fog was very hard. Finally after a really impressive movement the pilot could land the plane on the airport road. All the people in the plane start a big Applause to the crew, because they do a really hard work.

Some hours after I do my eork in the airport. Some people of the airport suggest me to go to Medellin city to see the xmas lights, go to the Metro and meet some cool places. So, get my bag, count my money and let’s go to Medellin. After a beautiful trip of 40kms I finally arrive to Medellin, the second city in Colombia. There I get the Metro (The second in my life, the first one was on Caracas – Venezuela), visit some comercial centers, take some photos, eat bread and look a lot of beautiful womans, the “paisas”. At the return I see the way to the hippodrome and a cute town called Guarne.

Again in the Airport in Rionegreo, time to wait for my flight. Well thanks to El Dorado airport in Bogota, my flight have a delay of 40 minutes. Also, the airport is having some fix and constructions thanks to that the waiting gates are very unconfortable and cold. After all of this I realiced, I’ve to return to Medellín with Ruri, it’s a beautiful place and have a lot of things to do and places to meet.

Today’s story it’s a little bit different. Barranquilla at 7am was very cloudy, a lot of fog and very bad weather, so the flight have to take a road to Cartagena, yes, Cartagena, the same one of the last week. So I have to wait more than a hour and again to the plane and 20 minutes after, voila, I landed on Barranquilla, “La arenosa”. The airport it’s pretty interesting because have an architecture  so impresive and grey.

After do my job related with servers at the airport, time to go to the Barranquilla’s industrial zone so, thanks to Ronny for his company and support I be able to go to DIAN’s office and come back safely, because it’s a insecure zone. After that take a motorcicle and trip to the Metropolitan Stadium, this was sometime  ago th Colombian selection official soccer stadium. there I saw some funny things like big pot fulled with rice with chicken, also all the people waiting for the night’s match and a lot of tshirts, hats and things related to Junior, the Barranquilla’s team.

So, back aqgain to the airport, get my stuffs and time to wait to my trip to Bogotá. It finally landed to Bogotá at 9:20pm and road to the house to rest and see how Jnuior team lost jajajaj

Well Barranquilla have some good things and others not so good: it’s and industrial city, have a great airport and the coast people sometimes it’s so nice. But the heat it’s really hard, it’s a weather very dry and the city it’s very dirty.
