Campus Party Colombia 2009 – Final day

Final day in Campus Party 2009 was a good day for a lot of activities. We start with Rurihimura’s Speech “Be creative and professional designing with open source software”. Was a excelent tutorial and all asistants work with entusiasm and the resultant was good. Here a gallery of tutorial photographs.

Later, after lunch, were contest price ceremony, unfortunately we didn’t win, but we have fun. The rest of the day we stay downlading stuffs, sharing information, sharing time with pals and friends, playing a little soccer match and of course, saying a “See you soon”. Campus Party Colombia 2009 – Day 4 and 5

Previously, I wrote about the tutorial I made on Thursday morning about IM. The same day, there were some presentations. The first one was about a linux distribution called “RockBox Libera tu ipod”. A great Linux distribution create to give extra functions and usability to your old iphone (less than 3 generation). This ipod’s operative system give you a real management of your multimedia device.

Second speech was given by Luis Alejandro Bernal. He show a new face of photography world, oriented to the use of open source software and the way to use flickr website to share works and licencing them with open content liceses.

On day 5, I was on the best Campus Party talk. There was a conference dedicated to show all the principles of photography, photograph camera usages, camera extra components and the way to take special pictures. This talk open my mind to new ideas and challenges.

Instant Messaging, beyond the emoticons

Today was the bid Day. I present in Campus Party Colombia 2009 my speech called “Instant Messaging, beyond the emoticons”. There was near to 25 people, the were so active and well, was a great tutorial.

Campus Party Colombia 2009 – Day 3

Third day in Campus Party Colombia 2009 have been better than the prevously days. Everything have become better because speech quality have increase, and of course, logistic and relations betweens people inside arena is increasing at every moment.

Ruri and I were looking a speech about ipod touch adn iphone an very useful apps. Here some apps: Shazam, Girotron, Pandora y Twitdeck.

Later I follow a panel about twitter and blogger influence on actual comunications, also some ideas about wrong use of the title “twitter” or “blogger” as an author. A few hours ago I heard the ideas about a blogger writer who use that technology as social way to share real information about countries were comunication media is controled by politicians or goberments.

Finally there was a concert of Colombian group Superlitio (from Cali – Valle) and play several songs including they best songs:Hi Fi, Perro Come Perro and El cartucho.

Well done, end of transmission I feel very tired and I need a rest

Campus Party Colombia 2009 – Day 2

Campus Party 2009 day 2 it’s over. Finally al palestrans and conferences start. Zones like Blog, Development, Free Software, Mooding, Bot, Creation and others start to offer interesting talks and tutorials in several topics.

The famous Kevin Mitnick (ex-hacker) speech a interesting talk about information security and people security. There were some ideas I was agree: social engineering and security paranoia. Was good for beginners I was specting more, but is not bad. A really interesting Idea: Take special care whit all the info you share trought social networks and web sites.

Well, some hours before Ricardo Lanziano share a talk about OpenSolaris Colombian comunity (Colosug) and new technologies in OpenSolaris, like crossbow, ZFS snapshot utility and more.

Then, well, Big Brother aka Google, give a speech about HTML5 and all google’s technologies (Gears, App Engine) and the new monster Wave. Important things to say: html5 and browser who respect standards. Ajax golden age, no more tears no more codecs, standard internet.

Second Colombian Campus Party is here. All starts on July 6th to July 12th. Thanks to our work we (Ruri and I) are going to present 2 tutorials.

On July 9th I going to share a tutorial called: “Mensajería Instantánea, más allá de los emoticones”

On July 11th Ruri is going to share a tutorial called: “Diseñando con Software Libre”

We have a lot of expectations and Ideas for this year, also, activities and time to share with some friends.

Of course, a lot of Open Source software to share

After FLISoL Bogotá 2009

FLISoL Bogota 2009 was pretty good. In fact we receive more people that the expected, also counting all problems with networking, comunications, repositories and other stuffs. Don’t forget the responsability of install on a machine that isn’t yours. It´s a big stress charge.

Here you can foud installation stats and global stats. All thins numbers make us happy and show us that the work was good and there was a great team on the lead of this festival.

Now we have several challenges: A new place for FLISoL 2010 because the library was good but not enought, few space and some rules that make us change the usual festival ways to do the things. Also count with people more preparated and with better skills. And finally better internet and energy.

Special thanks to Ruri for all her work: she design Bogotá Festival’s image and also another 11th cities posters and flyers. Also she participate with 3 tutorials about graphical desing with open source software and OpenOffice. Ohh, and help me with all refered to press and comunications
